Summary

Phillip doesn't want to repeat the generational cycle of trauma he received from his childhood onto his children. He puts duty and honor above his own happiness; so much so he does not believe he is worthy of love due to his bad luck.
But Miss Bridgerton's arrival into his life threatens to alter his entire trajectory and wreck his plans forever.

"Considering the idiocy that you are prone to on the daily, it’s reasonable that you would be surprised at your longevity... Although, I suppose, that may have something to do with your… partners.” He gave a laugh and Tony frowned at the wiring in his hands, then turned around to look at him.
“My partners? What, the Avengers? Well yeah, they’re a great team.”
Stephen snorted. “I do not only see the future, Tony. I see multiple universes, multiple realities, ways that things could go, the way things have already went. Small changes. Large ones. You, Tony, have options as to where your life will go. Who you decide to choose to spend said life with.”
Tony paused, then laughed. “Bullshit,” he said cheerfully.

The same white flowers in Luffy’s hands rustled as Luffy put one leg in front of the other. The soft green hill covered Luffy’s vision of the grave at the top. Yet, Luffy continued to look upwards to the sky.
Luffy nearly stopped in his tracks when he spotted someone standing in front of the grave. A small bit of annoyance went through Luffy because he much preferred it when they were alone. Besides this person would likely not even know who Law was personally at-
The figure held Law’s sword in their hand.
The annoyance snapped into anger.
“Oi!” Luffy said, unknowingly dropping the flowers in his hand. He moved quicker up the hill, ready to intimidate the lowly person who thought it would be a good idea to touch anything that was Law’s.
“You put those back. I don’t care why you picked it up but-”
The figure had come into view. The sunlight reflecting off a heavenly gold stopped Luffy in his tracks.
His entire body froze at the shade of yellow. The color of their eyes was a hue that Luffy thought he would never be able to lay eyes on again. No treasure or gold he and his crew had found over the many years could ever match that shade.
Yet, it stared him down after nineteen long years.
The same stern gaze stared down at him. The same face with the same dark hair framing his god-like sculpted features perfectly. A jaw sharper than any sword Luffy had seen was turned up to emphasize the other looking down on Luffy.
The black kimono the man wore did nothing to hide the dark swirls of the heart tattoo on his chest. The deep, black-inked words DEATH on the man’s fingers and the peak of smooth, bronze skin dried out Luffy’s mouth.
Wait-
“These are mine.”
The confidence laced in the familiar voice shook Luffy to his core. He swore he was hearing an echo. It had been so long, Luffy could only stare at the man in wonder if he was hallucinating the sound of his voice. If that was the way his voice truly sounded.
It can’t be him.
The clear sound echoing repeatedly in his head said otherwise.
“I don’t know who you are but you-”
“Torao?”
The small voice that came out of Luffy was one that he even didn’t recognize. It didn’t matter to him. It didn’t matter that Luffy had used the name he hadn’t spoken in years.
Luffy watched Law analyze him, he could see the gears practically turning in his head. The slow descent of horror over Law sent conflicting emotions through his mind.
Panic, suspicion, concern, shock, joy, confusion.
Luffy stared at Law as though he was a mirage that would disappear at any moment. As though in one second he would be waking up in his bed on the ship. Because how could Law be standing in front of him now?
The staredown was broken when Law moved to take a hesitant step backward.
The movement snapped Luffy back to reality, “Wait-” Luffy reached out his hand.
The distrusting expression on Law sent off a flood of emotions inside of Luffy. Desperation crashed with the shock that Luffy was still in. But when Law narrowed his eyes at him, almost looking scared of him, Luffy felt something get caught in his throat.
Putting his tattooed hand out in front of himself, the blue sphere engulfed the two. The devil fruit had sealed Luffy’s doubts.
“Torao!” Luffy called out, desperately running up the amount towards him. Luffy’s thoughts screamed at him to not let go.
Luffy stretched his arm to attempt to stop him. He could not let Law go again. This was Law. There was no doubt in Luffy’s mind about it.
“Don’t-!” Luffy pleaded.
But the other did not listen.
Luffy’s arm caught nothing but a broken branch in Law’s place. Standing alone on the hill, Luffy’s eyes stared at the branch in his hand in shock.
Once again, the unthinkable had happened.
Luffy had lost Law.

"A little," Ghost muttered and pushed away from the car. "I just get the feeling you're doing something stupid. Usually, you've told me specific details about worries at some point, but even now you're still so vague." König lowered his eyes and spoke glumly to the ground. "It's just a delicate matter that I didn't want to make you brood over. It drained me a bit and I've already done the stupid thing, but today I realized how stupid it was. I decided to put my paranoia to rest."
What to do if one's relationship partner is acting distant? Ghost knows that König is keeping a secret from him and the fear of the end of their relationship takes over his heart.
After König reassures him and despite the fast unfolding events, it seems Ghost is one of the few who keeps his cool about the 141 most hated enemy. As the plot takes its course, he realizes how well he knows König and how much they trust each other by now, so that the problems start where he would have never guessed them.
In the end, as it is so often, Ghost is the one who takes matters into his hands to hopefully guarantee the success of the mission. No matter what the cost.Series
