Ever since Ranboo vanished over one of their brief breaks, there had been a system set up with the Brighton content creators- Everyone would take turns to head on over to Ranboo's house every few days.
1) to make sure nothing was stolen and to keep things clean
and
2) They all had the hope that maybe, just maybe, Ranboo would reappear back at his house.
It's not like Phil was expecting to ACTUALLY find Ranboo when it was his turn to check on their house, let alone a heavily injured and delirious Ranboo.

This story is complemented by illustrations throughout, an audiobook adaptation, and an accompanying website. -

With a guttural scream, Niki finds herself crying out: “Help me, please, someone help!”
As soon as the words leave her lips, she feels as if the room around her is spun over like a hamster wheel. Abruptly she feels a cold floor and a growing wet stain beneath her despite remaining on her feet, and the tears staining her cheeks feel nauseatingly familiar.
Who did she cry for as she lay in agony? Who was it that she begged for help, only to receive no mercy? Who is she calling for now?
They didn’t save her.
//It’s time for the final show.//
Or: Niki wakes up in the middle of the finale and fights to free her fellow cast members from Showfall's grasp - but are their lives, their humanity, beyond recovery?

Summary
Showfall realized they had made a mistake when they killed off their hero. Sure, other people could put up a fight, but they had been working with Ranboo for so long that the viewers were used to them. So they went against the audience's wishes, revived him and put them through the wringer again.
But something feels...Strange. The mask keeps malfunctioning no matter how often they fix it, re-wiring it isn't an option (unless they bust the hero's head open again) and the people Ranboo comes into contact with seem to be becoming more self-aware the more time they spend together.
Ranboo's becoming a danger. But they can't kill him off, because the audience will be disappointed and they'll lose viewers.
Leave the camera on.

Summary
When they round a corner, round the Cabin, and the sight of the rooms still makes them shiver. Seeing Charlie still on the ground, the mess of wires and claws that is the monster beside him, that makes Ranboo flinch.
They stop for a second, stop dead in their tracks and suddenly their lungs aren’t working. But then there is a sound, a groan, a very human-like groan. Ranboo’s running before they can even think.
Charlie doesn't die in the end and Ranboo finds him - The two of them mess up all of Showfall's perfect plans

Even now, the barrel of a gun warming her hands, blood splattered on her face, and they (ranboo, sneeg, charlie, vinny, ethan, autstin) are staring at her like she’s something they've never seen before. Even now, red lights blaring and they need to get out right fucking now. Even now she’s still what Showfall made her.
Or Niki changes the story and makes her happy ending, and drags literally everyone along for the ride (and therapy)

“We’ll tell nobody. We’ll let them make their own conclusions about what happened to us.” Charlie softly reassured him as he gently worked through a particularly tangled clump of blood and some other mysterious substance stubbornly clinging to Ranboo’s hair.
“We’ll get you home, Ranboo.” Charlie swore to them, “It’s over. You don’t have to be brave anymore. It’s okay.” Ranboo hesitated, before slowly pulling away, and Charlie could only let them.
“You can’t go back either.” Ranboo called him out, and Charlie wavered, “Please.” Ranboo sounded devastated as he begged, “Please, Charlie. I can’t- I can’t lose you too…”
Charlie forced a weak smile on his face, feeling a sort of disdainful irony as he held up his pinky to the other. “I pinky swear, I won’t go back there.”
It was only when Ranboo wasn’t looking did Charlie drop the crossed fingers behind his back.
(AKA: A "What-if" where Ranboo and Charlie escape Showfall and deal with the turbulent journey that comes with recovery all while trying to keep the horrible things which happened to them a secret for the sake of their own safety.)
