Okay sure, it’s a fic that’s been dead for nearly 10 years at this point. And yeah, the cool kids aren’t my favourite characters either.
But at this point, I’m desperate, I’ll take whatever I can get. And what we got is a body swap fic involving the main three crystal gems, that actually goes into good detail of how humans and gems have to adjust to alien bodies. It’s fun, it’s just the right amount of cringe (I mean that in the positive way I swear), and if I had to pick a dead fic to resurrect… I’d choose this one.

Summary
The Crystal Gems and Beach City residents are enjoying themselves at a barbecue picnic arranged by Steven and hosted by Peridot at the barn.
Things take a twist for the unbelievable when The Cluster makes its return enclosed in a new form, Peridot gets poofed, cracked, and semi-corrupted, and Lapis must grudgingly team up with the Crystal Gems to try and save Peridot from becoming unsalvageable.
Lapis, who has always been indifferent to involvement in the affairs of the Crystal Gems, is about to become more intimately exposed to their mission than she'd ever cared to before.

Vidalia gets Steven to hang out with Onion for the day, but when Steven has to go to the store and pick up more snacks, he asks Lapis to keep an eye on him at the temple until he gets back. Lapis comes up with a game where she creates bubbles and Onion pops them, but she gets bored with it in the middle of round 37 and leaves to find Peridot. Onion wanders around the temple and, assuming he’s still playing with Lapis, ends up popping the bubble containing Jasper.
