“Thank you.”
It was a strange moment for Steven – he had heard and learned about how Homeworld treated pearls, but he had never actually seen another pearl besides his own and the Diamonds’ pearls. This pearl, who hadn’t once looked up at him or made any type of eye contact, suddenly looked up at his gratitude, blue eyes wide in either shock or terror.
“That’s enough out of you!” the ruby called, stomping over and grabbing the pearl by the arm. “We know how you manipulate other gems and the last thing we want is another lost pearl. Come on.”
[.] The sight of that gem yelling at a pearl unnerved him and he couldn’t help but think of the time he had heard Pearl say almost the identical thing.
“I’m just a pearl. I’m useless on my own.”
It had been hard to hear Pearl say something like that and it hadn’t been the first time or the last that Steven would be privy to the emotional scarring his guardian held in her heart. Had someone yelled at her like that? Had someone treated her the way that ruby had treated the other pearl? Even the mere mention of helping a pearl had been met with disgust…

White wanted the young Diamond to grow into her potential, to express these…grand ideas she had with the start of a new colony, but she also didn’t want the youngster to just run amuck with gems under command. She would need guidance, especially when on a hostile planet alone, and she would need some that could be given and perform tasks to the best of their abilities.
That meant there was only one choice.
White gifted to Pink her very own pearl.

Pearls who were owned by the gem elites had slightly more privileges, though not much, and could be treated with slightly more respect than a common pearl. And no pearl had higher status than a Diamond’s pearl.
A Diamond’s pearl was the personal attendant for a Diamond and was always by their side. While their role was the same as any other pearl, their position as an aide or even confidant for their glorious leaders put them on a higher tier than even rubies or amethysts. No one dared to threaten or mistreat a Diamond’s pearl – a gem could easily be shattered for just looking at a Diamond’s pearl the wrong way.
That’s how much influence they could have.
This particular pearl had the distinct honor of once belonging to White Diamond. She had been made personally to be everything the leader of Homeworld wanted and needed in a pearl – loyal, intelligent, eager to please – but something went wrong in this pearl’s creation process. Instead of the perfect circle that should’ve adorned her forehead, the gem had come out elongated by about two inches.
This pearl was defective, but for some strange reason, White Diamond held on to her. That is, before she gifted her away to Pink. The process of creating pearls was slightly quicker than say the military elite, however it still took time, especially when all pearls were custom for their owner; Pink, eager to get started on colonizing her new planet, would be patient as her pearl was being created, however she couldn’t go to Earth without an attaché, so White had graciously given her the use of her own pearl.

one thing if the pearl was doing the quartz’s bidding (which most thought she was anyway) and it would be understandable if she was holding on to the traitor’s stuff, but she wasn’t. If anything, the pearl was worse than Rose Quartz.
The pearl seemed to have no master and didn’t take orders from the gem she followed; she also knew and understood combat, something no ordinary pearl would or should know. She always carried two swords with her, using them as though she had been…trained to do so; she was also ruthless. No gem that came across her left a fight unscathed, usually being reduced to their gem

No one knew where she came from, but always by Rose Quartz’s side was…a pearl. It was a concept that even the lowest and newest ruby couldn’t understand – it would be
reappearing back at the designated base.
Even now, with her reputation known very well on Earth colony, the sight of her still rendered those who fought for the side of Homeworld mute with surprise. She was a renegade pearl.
And she was terrifying.

“She’s gone forever,” Rose says, and the pure glee in her voice seems odd until Garnet thinks about Blue Diamond. Perhaps she would have the same reaction in Rose’s place after all. “We’ve won. We’re free.”Garnet’s gaze slides to Pearl. In great contrast to Rose beside her, Pearl looks miserable, slouched and drawn and tired. Garnet wonders if that’s the result of the battle or of the days that followed it. The bud of victory that had been growing inside of her begins to droop and wilt. This wasn’t a victory; this was a last resort. She can understand that a weight has been lifted from Rose’s shoulders, but she’s not sure anyone wanted things to turn out like this, with the rebellion in such bad straits that two of its members had to topple a tyrant on their own to ensure that everything hadn’t been in vain.

She finds Pearl sitting on the edge of a cliff hours later.Pearl wipes her face hurriedly before smiling up at her, eyes still a bit wet. “Hello, Garnet.”
Garnet sits beside her in silence and for a while they watch as the yellow sun creeps towards the horizon, painting the blue sky with shards of pink. There’s a light breeze, and the silence between them feels immense, eternal, until Garnet decides to speak.
“I never thought we’d see a day like this.”
“Neither did I,” Pearl murmurs in response.
“Victory so close, and all because Rose…Rose shattered a diamond.” She can hear the awe in her own voice.
Pearl opens her mouth to say something before curling in on herself, her hands clasped over her mouth, shoulders shaking.
Garnet has seen pearls lose their owners before. She’d seen pearls join the rebellion alongside their owners only to see them cut down by an enemy soldier; she’d seen pearls on the battlefield confronting owners they’d left behind. Some brush it off, but it isn’t always easy, even for pearls who have wholeheartedly embraced the concept of freedom.
Pearl has never told her who she was made for, but Garnet is good at guessing, and this feels like confirmation.
“I’m sorry,” she says, gently stroking Pearl’s hair.
Pearl lowers her hand from her mouth. “It’s better this way,” she says. “It really is, but…” She bows her head. The sun slowly sinks below the horizon, dragging the shards of pink down with it, to be reborn on another day.

Summary
A collection of 24 triple drabbles, all written in a 24 hour period, from 3pm on 13th July to 3pm on the 14th. All are inspired by some of the prompts from this prompt grid (Table A).
A second round of triple drabbles, using the same prompt grid, were all written between 2pm on 28th July to 2pm on 28th July.
Round three took place between 3pm on 30/08/18 to 3pm on 31/08/18, using 24 of the prompts from this prompt table (Table 2).
A fourth round, using 24 more of those prompts, took place between 3pm on 08/09/18 and 3pm on 09/09/18.
Round five, using 24 of those same prompts, took place between 3pm on 19/10/18 and 3pm 20/10/18.
Round six, same prompts used, took place between 3pm 28/12/18 and 3pm 29/12/18.

Summary
In another world, the other Diamonds decided to allow Pink Diamond to keep the organics on Earth alive in a moment that changed history, expecting that she would lose interest in them within a few hundred years and complete her colony the way it was supposed to be done.
Six thousand years later, Pink Diamond's son Steven is born, with his mother and father watching him emerge and smiling the entire time.
Steven Universe originates from Rebecca Sugar and Cartoon Network.
AUTHOR'S NOTE: This series has been placed on hiatus for the near future, mostly. I can't promise that I'll update too much, sorry. My motivation for SU-related things has more or less dried up after Future ended.
I am probably not going to be writing too much for this series for a while - after SUF ended, my interests have just started moving on as well. I am not going to abandon it entirely, but a lot of my writing energy will be applied to other stuff.

But even when everything was peacefull, he still couldn't move on and accept that everything was chaging. Luckly he had always had his mom, Nova, and all of his family with him to help him cope with all of his trauma.
Now, months after everything, his mother decides to take him to meet another version of himself, and then they all decide to travel to the past???????Oh well, at least his 13 year old self is happy to have new friends. Nothing could go wrong.

It's been years since Homeworld returned to Earth to continue what it had started centuries ago. The last of the Crystal Gems have been rounded up and dealt with. The human resistance is just a small stumbling block. Everything is how it should be.
They didn't know there was still one Crystal Gem out there living among the humans as a human. They certainly weren't prepared for him learning that there was a chance that his entire family was still alive.

“I know Pearl is… alive,” she said.
“But…?”
[.] “On Homeworld, pearls aren’t treated like other gems. They’re made to be servant gems: docile, quiet, weak. Basically everything Pearl isn't, [.] There’s a process where ‘malfunctioning’ pearls can be reprogrammed: stripped of their memories and reset to their original settings. So, that’s what they did, except… You know Pearl. She knew about the reprogramming process and had 1000s of years of freedom to think about it. I’m not sure how it’s done or how she resisted it, but she did. She acted like it had worked for a bit. Had me fooled for a little while. I wasn’t there the day it happened so I don’t know exactly what went down, but I heard a lot of rumors. From what I understand, she pulled out her weapon in the middle of a meeting of a bunch of high-ranking gems. She poofed over half a dozen of them, shattered the one she was supposed to be serving, and put a spear through Yellow Diamond’s leg before she was poofed herself. After that, well, shattering her would have been acknowledging her as a warrior gem, something Yellow Diamond refused to allow for a pearl. But, they knew they couldn’t reset her, so, they cracked her, like what I had, but worse. A lot worse. She’s in a lot of pain. Yellow Diamond keeps her with her all of the time as a warning. [.] She’s still there though and still fighting,” she told Steven. Pearl was poofed a lot. Amethyst wasn’t sure if it was because Pearl kept trying to fight despite being hobbled or if Yellow Diamond just thought it was fun, but she was in a different outfit most of the times Amethyst saw her. Every one of her outfits still had a star somewhere on it. Amethyst had been poofed less often, but every one of hers had also had a star. Homeworld didn’t understand the significance of it, but every time one saw the other had been poofed, their eyes lingered over it before going back to whatever they were supposed to be doing. It was a message. I’m still here. I’m still fighting. I know what we are fighting for.

Amethyst hadn’t been exaggerating when she’d told Steven that Pearl was in bad shape. In fact, she may have been downplaying it to spare him. Her form was all fuzzy, like she was a figure cut out of an old home movie and her visage was constantly flickering like the corrupted gems did when they were agitated. Connie was not a gem. She did not understand exactly how they worked, but even she could tell that Pearl was in a lot of pain

there was Pearl. Her form flickered even harder than usual and one of her hands couldn’t keep its form. Particles fizzed off it like it was turning to dust. One of her eyes was completely white and she was wavering on one leg, the other seemingly too weak to support her weight. Yet, despite all that, her not glitching hand held a spear in the end position of a slashing move and there was a jasper’s gem which settled at her feet with one last clink

"You’re the one who was cracked within an inch of your life a few hours ago,” she pointed out.
Pearl shrugged. “Had worse.”
“Worse than that?”
Pearl peered down at her and she didn’t look sad or even traumatized. She just looked really, really tired. “I was born a slave Amethyst.”

Even if Pearl had a gem cracked so badly she could barely function, she’d still been a rebel and a very important one in the first rebellion. One would think that they’d remember that, but they still couldn’t get over themselves and the system they’d set up to see her as anything other than a lowly, damaged, pearl.
She’d been in ‘servitude’ to Yellow Diamond after their capture, and as any pearl belonging to the diamonds, she went wherever Yellow Diamond did, [.] being a slave had one advantage: to most gems, she was invisible. Pearls were little more than decoration and most gems wouldn’t know Pearl from another of her kind. Thus, they didn’t shy away from discussing all sorts of high-security issues right in front of her.

Pearl knew the routines of all of the gems within the highest ranks and of the gems that served those high-ranking gems. Knowing Pearl, Amethyst was sure it was pinpoint accurate. She reconstructed their routines with incredible detail by use of her holograms and Connie with her human and strategic mind was almost instantly able to point out many holes in their defenses.

“It’s Blue Diamond’s private chambers,” Pearl concluded [.] “The cells would have more gems, jaspers and amethysts, not fused topazes. Those are personal guards.”

“I have something I need to tell you, [.] but I’m not sure if now is the time.”
“I know, [.] I knew the second you became capable of saying the words out loud.”
[.] “Yellow Diamond ordered me [.] It turns out,” she shrugged, “if you can manage to resist one diamond’s order, you can suddenly resist them all.” -
