The world has taught Ravage that only the shadows are safe. Only a few Decepticons have heard her speak in her own voice, and only her dearest lovers and closest kith have ever seen her authentic self. Now Megatron says that his revolution is over, but it's not his to end; it belongs to the mechs who have lived and died for it. If Ravage can't convince him not to abandon them, she'll have to stop deflecting attention and save them herself. She might even save her own life.

This is more than great. I love the juxtaposition between Tarn's and Getaway's POVs, and I adore the clear differences in power and dynamic that Getaway just doesn't see. I love how he thinks he's in control of himself, when Tarn is self-satisfied, playing him like a fiddle. Tarn's servos are so sure, and his manipulations are so- I- AUGH!
I love how certain he is! I love how he laughs, and compares Getaway and Pharma, I love how he has a much deeper understanding of Getaway than Getaway has of him, and I lovethat Getaway doesn't know it. I love that Tarn knows that Getaway doesn't know it, and is using that against him. I LOVED the ending. I loved Tarn there, I loved how he used his Voice and how Getaway was just wrecked by the end, he was done, he was so cooperative, but so in denial and unaware of it, he— he!!! He!!!!!! I don't know, I just love it.
I loved Getaway's POV. I loved Tarn's. I love this. This is phenomenal.
I've only seen one other fic with this premise, and I could just be badly read, but I've been obsessed each time to the highest degree possible. Recommend. I should read this again. This is something I will read over and over and gush every time, I can't get enough of your writing.

Getaway wasn’t supposed to be here at all.
Time is… strange, around the Necroworld. Every moment that passes feels heavy with other moments that did not come to pass, and at times, it’s as if Getaway can almost see them, those other paths. He might have flown away, the popularly and rightfully installed captain of the Lost Light, and never even learned that anything worse than the officious bureaucrats of the Galactic Council awaited Megatron and his minions.
AU ending for 'The Dying of the Light' (MTMTE issue 55). Faced with losing everything he's worked for - and having to watch Megatron win once again - Getaway gives into a dangerous impulse, saves a life he shouldn't, and has to deal with the consequences.
