Summary
After Zuko's Agni Kai with Ozai and he learns of his banishment, Zuko flees the Fire Nation afraid, confused, and alone, leaving his uncle behind who has a chance to grow close to Azula. Zuko understands much sooner that his father never loved him and finds himself in an Earth Kingdoms forest surrounded by boys who want to free their kingdom from the Fire Nation. Zuko joins the Freedom Fighters claiming to be a nonbender from the Earth Kingdoms, growing in confidence in himself. When it is reveled that he is a firebenders, Jet is forced to understand not all members of the Fire Nation are war mongers and both boys are significantly less angsty when the Gaang shows up.

After a brutal attack Avatar Korra, at the time only 5 years old, tragically passed away, leaving the world in fear and the protectors of the Avatar feeling guilty for failing to safeguard her. The search for the new Avatar has already begun, and the previous Avatar team (GAANG) is dedicated to finding and shielding the new one, determined to make amends for their inability to protect Korra and their promise to Avatar Aang.
Korra: was kidnapped by the Red Lotus, who aimed to mold her into a tool to fulfill their own desires. Unalaq discovered a way to sever the connection between Korra and Raava using the information from ancient scrolls intended to permanently imprison Vaatu during the next Harmonic Convergence. (Avatar cycle lives on <3 )
Asami: still grieving the loss of her mother, sought peace, only to discover that her father had become an Equalist. Torn between her moral beliefs and her love for her father, she allowed herself to be manipulated and became an Equalist herself.

“Can’t,” Zuko grunted out, just as Katara pushed the cold compress closer. “Father says that if – if it’s my fault, I have to fix it myself. Asking for handouts after a tantrum is dishonorable.”
He’d said as much before, when the worst thing he’d shown up with was enough cuts on his knees to border the wrong edge of questionable. Sokka had never thought twice about the explanation. He knew that Toph’s parents had cut her off from time to time. Rich kid problems at their finest.
This time, though, Sokka took a good, hard look at the burns on Zuko’s arm. And he did something he’d never done before: he asked follow-up questions.
“How’d you get that burn, Zuko?”
Or, Zuko's made a habit of texting Sokka when he needs to be patched up. But when said patching up only ever happens in the middle of the night when his dads aren't home, there's only so much Sokka is willing to not question for the sake of someone he doesn't even know that well.
