The acetone did not come back after each loop nor replenish, but the bottle he took stayed with him, just like the seeing tool. Henry was lucky he didn’t spoil all on his first go but it did make it clear that this was something with major importance and he did not have a lot left. Of course, this meant that he used it very sparingly and only in dire situations. Of course, this means a dire situation happened to make him do this next very stupid thing:
He drank it.
Maybe that decision wasn't so stupid after all.

You’ll become like all of them-” he gestured at the houses that surrounded them, their inhabitants likely all sleeping - “and that fire in you will burn away. Don’t you know why I’m here, Wendy? That fire called to me from the other end of the sky. You aren’t like anyone else, but you’re willing to pretend at it.”
Wendy chewed her lip and looked up at Peter, watching emotion play out on his face with so much intensity that she could feel it smoldering in her own chest.
