Summary
“The True History of the Gem War”, also known as “The Book of Rose Quartz” and “The Time Before the Flood” is one of the most intriguing and controversial works of ancient Near Eastern mythology and history known to modern scholars. For nearly two centuries, it had been the focus of obsession and study, and yet we are no closer to deciphering its secrets than we were when it was first unveiled.
Traditionally, “The True History” is said to have been discovered by famed Anglish explorer and cataloguer Buddy Buckwick in 1762, while he was exploring ancient ruins in North Africa. Though only six thousand words, arranged into seven tablets, “The True History” appeared to be a syncretic approach to ancient Mesopotamian myth and legend, weaving together elements of “The Epic of Gilgamesh” and the heretical Biblical “Book of Enoch” into a narrative of a ‘War in Heaven’ or ‘Angelic Rebellion’. The text also included clear references to the Egyptian pantheon, and to other ancient Hebrew texts and Mesopotamian legends, and was written in a creole of Aramaic and Hebrew.

When Poseidon invited Percy to Atlantis, he hadn’t exactly known what to expect. He’d obviously discovered that he could breath underwater and that the cold didn’t bother him that much but other than that?
He’d learned from a few trusted sources (read: Annabeth) that most Atlanteans, -including his brother Triton-, had a tail, or even two tails in some cases.
And Percy? Well, he didn’t. Which probably left him at a pretty big disadvantage. It didn’t sit right with him, especially because he knew that his underwater-family might not like him all that much, after-all his Dad did cheat on his wife with his mom, so… Awkward.
Which is why, when Poseidon offered him a tail for his visit, he was ecstatic. Like, how cool is it to turn into a mermaid -man-, whatever, even if it’s only for a short period of time. Obviously he wanted a tail.

It was early and he was tired and hungry and getting really frustrated. Someone coughed discreetly behind him. Bright red, Percy turned to look at whoever just bore witness to his little fit.

Summary
Set went from a street rat to a High Priest in the Shadow Court under Pharaoh Atem wielding the Millennium Rod. But that was 5,000 years ago. Modern Egyptian mythology does not paint Set in a good light which can often cause problems when dealing with other people and pantheons. That's what Kaiba Seto, Regent of the Shadow Court, is learning the hard way. Of course, having Set in the back of his mind while dealing with ignorant people and an enemy that seems to have fixated on him is not the best combination.
