“Hello? Hellooo?” Tommy drawls, snapping his fingers in front of Techno who doesn’t even blink or flinch at the sudden motion. “Is anyone home in there?”
“What the fuck..” Tommy mumbles to himself. “Um, hello?” he shakes the older by the shoulder lightly so as to not startle him. He gets startled anyways, floundering away from Tommy while he blinks furiously, pupils finally regaining soul—yet, they are frantic, as if he is searching for something that was never in the room to begin with.
Techno looks at his younger brother indecisively and clears his throat. “Hi, Tommy.”
Tommy crosses his arms as he sits beside him, an inspecting expression on his face. “What time did you go to bed last night?”
“Uhh, I did not go to bed last night.”
OR
Techno being an idiot who denies his lack of taking breaks and Tommy being the responsible (and stressed) one for once.

While obligatory, this series challenges a few pervasive narratives and hopes to rewrite foster aus as a concept through radical acceptance, diversity, and realistic healing.
Most people writing foster aus have no idea what they're doing. And tbf- that's okay. Most people aren't reading foster aus for accuracy. But as someone who is knowledgable about these systems and the trauma of foster care, I really wanted to see an au that tackled these concepts head on. So I did it myself.
