Light was seven when he ran away from home. He was seven when he found a panda looking child. Light was seven when he was finally accepted for who he was.
L was nine when he became the world's greatest detective. L was ten when he found a brown-haired child covered in dirt. L was ten when he made his first friend.
AU: Light runs away from home and is found by L. This follows Light and L growing up together and then the Merikh Case (which follows the timeline of the Kira Case just with a different name). Light uses the name of Kira when he is at Wammy's House so hence the rename.

Summary
After enduring an what felt like an eternity of punishment in Mu, reliving every death he caused as Kira, Light Yagami is given an unexpected second chance. Summary
All Light can remember is picking up a notebook that he had seen fall seemingly from the sky than everything went dark. The last thing he saw was the words on the notebook.
Death Note.
After a while of feeling but not seeing or doing anything, Light can finally open his eyes. He doesn't know what happened but six years have passed and someone is asking him questions about himself and if he remembers what happened.
A/N: or in a AU where Light is pushed away into the back of his mind and a Shinigami took control over his body, killing people using Lights body and the notebook to overcome their boredom, Light wakes up confused to what happened.
Not everything that happened in Cannon happened here because I imagine the Shinigami is a little dumb and can't use his eyes to see people's names while possessing a human.
