Arriving at an abandoned homestead, she decides to make it her new home. The locals keep warning her of its cursed nature, saying it's haunted, but she doesn't listen. That is, until strange things start happening...

“No results,” Merry reiterated, awaiting his next clarification.
“Black comma Sanji,” he hazarded, reordering the name.
“No results.”
But he'd just spent the evening with Sanji, and there hadn't been any indication that he'd lied about his name. How was it possible that he didn't exist?

“Uh,” he says, intelligently, “I—yes, of course I’m paying attention!” He gives a confident laugh, as though the mere thought that he would zone out in the middle of Alastor’s explanation is absurd.
Alastor raises a brow, his eye twitching irritably. “Oh?” he says, “Well, if you were paying attention, would care to tell me what I said about Carmilla’s daughters?”
Lucifer’s face flushes as he tries to come up with a single fact that Alastor had told him.
“…There’s two of them?” he offers, sheepish.

Lucifer tries to step into a more active role as the King of Hell—with Alastor’s assistance, that is.
It goes about as well as one would expect.

She shares with him all the things she loves about her world and time, and it helps him find his own place in it. Ella, for her part, is surprised to find that despite his fame and superhuman abilities, Steve is underneath it all not so different from her and those she loves. Their connections to each other, and to other friends and loved ones, weave a safety net which can catch them when they would otherwise fall.

A long-form piece which, told largely through Ella's eyes and correspondence, is one part love letter to MCU's Steve Rogers, and one part love letter to the ideas, places, things, and people that matter to me. Note that there is minor violence in one scene (one character knocks another unconscious), but I felt that did not warrant "Graphic Depictions of Violence." Also note that beginning in Chapter 42, there are spoilers for Avengers: Endgame.

After falling into a magical lagoon during a once-in-a-lifetime eclipse, music students Viktor, Mila, and Yuri find themselves transforming into merfolk whenever they touch water... and considering that they live on the coast, that's probably going to cause some trouble. Things get even weirder when they discover strange powers that may have bigger effects on their daily lives than they could ever imagine.
Add to the mix a thalassophobic pianist, a marine biologist (possibly cryptozoologist) who might actually be completely insane, and a treasure-hunting Canadian... one thing's for sure: their lives sure just got a whole lot more interesting.
