So that just leaves Peter. And he’s not even going to try to fight a whole team of Avengers. He looks up at Iron Man filling the doorway. “I surrender.”

He looks around with bloodshot eyes, only to moan in frustration and clutch at his hair when he belatedly recalls where they are, the nightmare they're living. So if I wanted to sit around with all you people and play Settlers of Catan while eating homemade pretzels, I would. But I don’t, so I don’t. You are a roof over my head and food on my plate. Other than that, you can all leave me the hell alone.” He turns and the bedroom door slams.
“Is that right,” Tony tells the closed door, setting his hands on his hips. “Oh, we’ll see about that.”

Summary

Wriothesley abandons his post as an infantry colonel for a chance to become a dragon rider and wield magic. Very soon, he finds he’s bitten off more than he can chew when half the college want him dead or dishonoured, and his ageing body starts to give out. Wriothesley finds a lifeline in his friend Navia and his favourite Professor, Neuvillette, but trusting anyone is like walking the edge of a knife.
With every day that passes, the war outside Teyvat’s protective wards creeps closer. Despite twelve years of service, Wriothesley begins to lose faith in leadership when a terrible secret comes to light.

Summary
Post-release, with no home to return to, Wriothesley establishes an off-grid cabin in the middle of nowhere to make his living. Years of solitude and wood splitting pass, without fanfare, until a hunting accident brings a strange man, Neuvillette, into his life.
Much like Wriothesley, Neuvillette is running from something. Perhaps there's healing to be done as they learn to share space with one another.
All it takes is one gunshot to disturb the peace they've so carefully constructed.
