Zed probably should’ve realized it was a patently terrible idea to build his base in an enormous hole that wasn’t completely flooded with water at the bottom.
He figured it'd be fine. He had been careful enough with the waterfalls, and besides, he had an elytra by now, so where was the risk in falling?
Just his luck, the one day he was too lazy to swing by the rocket shop is the same day he takes his approach too fast.
At least the other two resident hole-dwelling hermits are both checking their comms.
And you know? It's really a shame it took him falling into his base and breaking his leg for the three of them to finally put aside their busy schedules and get together.
In a way, it's just like them.(Whumptober 2023: 5 - "It's broken")

Summary
The dungeon felt like it was coming to life.
The winding passages and frigid rooms, the belly of the beast snaking redstone, and note blocks and jukeboxes everywhere. Tango had been working on it so hard that his physicality had shifted, turning pale and blue to match the ice. Now that the dungeon was open, he felt like all his hard work was finally paying off. That wasn't the issue. His current issue was the hermits were finding the easter eggs a lot faster than he’d anticipated, and the burning dark wasn't anywhere close to done. Luckily, as a blaze-born, he doesn't need nearly as much sleep as over-worlders, and if he just keeps his head down and powers through, he'll get it done in time. He'll get it done. Even if it means a few all-nighters. So what if he forgot his clock on the way into the depths? And maybe he had barely seen his boyfriend for all these months he'd been working, working, working, but he'd be done soon. He'd be done soon.

After weeks, he plans a course to fly right over Grian's base. Really rub it in his face, that he's accomplished something he thought he'd never enjoy.
As he flies past, he sees mostly red blur of color flying next to him, "You're flying?!" Jimmy smiles, "Yeah! I uh, swapped out the reading mod for the colour mod."Or, Jimmy is blind, and uses a mod to be able to read things. He also has a color mod, but can't use both due to high ping. He uses echolocation to see, so he never flies.
