    They’re all dressed the same; flight suits personalised in a way that suggests they’ve been in rank long enough to grow slack with rules and regulations; Niki’s top-half of her flight suits unzipped and tied around her waist while the man’s next to her has been relinquished to be draped over the fourth, to keep him warm, as if he didn’t have nanobots in his system regulating his temperature, and Sam, closely monitoring all of the humans’ health through the same robotics and his own passive scans.

    “Well?” the second soldier says, already on the defensive, as Tommy expected.
    He’s the first to make his move, wanting something to happen when its clear that the aliens are waiting to take their lead off Tommy, and Tommy himself is distracted both by the reality that the humans are prisoners and that he was once in a similar situation himself, having no clue what was happening, why or what would happen next.
    They’re lucky to have one another. Tommy had no one.

    Or: Tommy finally gets some answers.
