Laios inhaled sharply, and let out a delighted sigh as he exhaled. “Your butt smells really nice, by the way,” he remarked as he poked the tip of his nose into the hole, his nostrils flaring and twitching, sniffing wildly like a hunting dog on a trail. “Honestly, you smell good all over, though. I don't really know how to describe it, but it's pretty awesome. Totally hot. I guess that's because of the pheromones and stuff,” he went on rambling nonsensically as he buried his face between Kabru's cheeks, which made his voice sound kind of muffled. Well, it wasn't as if he was saying anything that important. Honestly, it may have been for the better if Kabru didn't hear him. Hell, it would have been even better if he stopped talking altogether. It only seemed to make things more awkward every time. Kabru said that he was good at dirty talk, but Laios couldn't shake the feeling that he was just humouring him. If only he could come up with more normal things to say, he wouldn't have to worry about ruining the mood, but that wasn't how his mind worked at all. “Hey, Kabru...” he murmured under his breath, furrowing his brow, “...do you think I'm a pervert?”

Kabru put his hands on Laios' knees to steady himself and adjusted the position of his hips so that the bulge would be laid precisely between his cheeks before gradually increasing the pressure, drawing a gasp out of Laios in the process. He began experimentally moving his hips back and forth, rubbing his butt against the bulge, all the while studying Laios' reactions from the corner of his eye. He was still staring at Kabru's rear, as if hypnotised, breathing heavily through his parted lips, a thin string of saliva dripping out of the corner of his mouth. His face was flushed a deep shade of red, the blush reaching up to his sweat-drenched forehead and the tips of his ears. His hands lay atop his chest, their fingertips digging into the skin as if he were trying to tear his own heart out. It would probably be a good idea to give him something to do with his hands, Kabru reckoned, lest he actually injure himself. “Laios, my love,” he prompted in a gentle voice, sending Laios a sensual look from beneath his lowered eyelids, “I can't quite get the right angle on my own. Could you please hold it straight for me?” he asked, nodding towards his groin.

Summary
Somewhat predictably, Laios seemed to have every existing werewolf movie in his collection, seemingly ranked according to his preference for their depictions of wolf-men – yet another thing for Kabru to ask him about later. While his preference for werewolves was extremely obvious, his taste was actually quite diverse, including stories about vampires, aliens and dinosaurs, amongst other things. A lot of the movies in his collection were so obscure that Kabru had never heard of them – then again, he wasn't that knowledgeable about monster movies to begin with. He was quite happy to have spotted the original versions of Frankenstein and Dracula amongst them (one had to wonder if Laios had read the books those movies were based on; Kabru was inclined to think so, in which case he would have liked to hear his thoughts on the differences between them), along with a number of movies he was at least somewhat familiar with despite never having seen them, such as Jurassic Park and Planet of the Apes. Notably, the collection was missing the movie Jaws – perhaps Laios was amongst the people who found its depiction of sharks so inaccurate as to be offensive.

Summary
Laios finally managed to swallow his crepe, pounding on his chest to make it go down easier. He put his hand over his mouth to muffle a burp and sent Kabru an apologetic glance prompting him to snort with amusement and point at his mouth to indicate that there was whipped cream on it. Laios stuck his tongue out to lick it off and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand for good measure, earning him a thumbs-up from Kabru. With a sigh of relief, Laios went to pick up another crepe. “You know,” he prompted, swirling hazelnut spread on his crepe, “now that you brought it up, I'm kind of curious what it is that you do when you go out on Sundays. Obviously you don't have to tell me if you don't want to,” he added quickly, “but I figured it wouldn't hurt to ask.”

Laios lightly shook his head and looked up at Kabru again. A pair of blue eyes met his, big, bright and beautiful, framed by long, dark eyelashes, staring at him intently without blinking. A shudder passed through Laios' body and his penis twitched involuntarily. Whenever Kabru looked at him like that, it activated some kind of primal instinct within him, akin to fight or flight, but significantly more embarrassing, not to mention detrimental to his actual chances of survival in the event that he was actually in danger. Getting a boner was definitely not an appropriate response in this situation. He could count himself lucky that Kabru wasn't actually going to take advantage of this momentary distraction – although the idea of him doing that was admittedly pretty hot. Ah, maybe they could play out that scenario another time. Kabru would probably like that, as long as he wouldn't have to actually suck Laios' blood or whatever (then again, Laios wouldn't put it past him to enjoy that too, if he managed to convince him that it didn't hurt). Laios shook his head again. “Good morning…” he murmured, blinking slowly. “...Are we going to wrestle or something?”

When Lien Twining discovered a guy trapped in the basement of the Horadori Institute of Genetics, he dropped a new case focused on the mysterious and extremely uncooperative "Kubo Uru" directly into ABIS' lap. Detectives Kuranushi Mizuki and Ryuki Kuruto have a lot on their plate now with this ongoing investigation, but this is not their investigation. These are their shared case notes.
Or, in other words, to prevent Half to Whole from having the most bloated word count of any fanfic ever posted to ao3, I decided the appendices and all their myriad updates would be better off in a separate fic in the same series. The word count balloons exponentially with every chapter update for h2w and is not indicative of how much there is to read; it's a consequence of trying to do appendices that update. It's not meant to be read as a standalone, but as a companion to Half to Whole, and it will not make any sense without reading that so read it and see just what happens. Or don't. Who am I to tell [you] what to do?
