He sat in his chair, picking up the script to read over it and prepare for another humiliating rehearsal as a lead actor that couldn't act. He'd be playing the role of student Akira again, taking the exam while Morgana fed him the answers. Student Akira is... Mild-mannered? And a bit timid now and then… No, he's sassy and sarcastic. Unless that's just me again. Ugh, which was it?
Ryuji opened his door, eyebrows knit in frustration as he wore a frown. "Director says you're on in 10, Akira. Better get ready."
"I'll be right there, my dear, one last line read," the shadow reassured.
"...Make it quick," Ryuji spat before closing the door.

The others called him Akira, unless he was playing Joker, then he earned that name. He never bothered to correct them, it was a minor inconsistency, and they were angry enough. Besides, how would he? They were all just calling him by his roles. He had no alternative to offer, he wasn't Akira or Joker, he wasn't helpful and couldn't be called Helper, or smart and could earn Nerd, or capable enough for the name Leader.Deep down, when he tried to look at himself, he simply wasn't anything. And that was what he was supposed to be.

I actually still have a lot of ideas for Shadow Akira, and this one is my ideas of his Palace and its construction solidified. I definitely feel like it was at least budding by the time he transferred to Shujin and started hanging out with Ryuji. If it had gone on a few more weeks without entering the Metaverse, then it would have been DIFFERENT, not so Phantom Thief oriented, but he still would have had a Palace, and it would still be a theater. Awakening to Arsène, and gaining the power to rebel against the societal chains that bound him didn't solve the underlying identity issues and martyr complex. If anything, it only prolonged the inevitable while worsening the problem, since he now had something to truly become a martyr for. So, it wasn't a TYPICAL Palace construction, but delayed partly through.I might toy with a few other fics, I especially have an idea for one that's a rewritten scene from It's Showtime from his perspective, first person POV.

Goro stared at him for a long moment, his usual sharp retort dying on his tongue. The earnestness in Ken's eyes was enough to make him sigh and reach for the chopsticks. He took a single bite-just enough to appease the boy-before handing them back.
"There. Happy?"
Ken gave a small, satisfied nod, though his brow remained furrowed. "You don't have to do everything for me, you know..."
"Yes, I do." Goro's voice was soft but firm, his gaze steady as he leaned closer. "You're all l've got, Ken. That's not going to change."
Ken swallowed hard, his grip tightening around the bowl. "And you're all l've got too. So stop acting like you don't matter, okay?"

“… How long was I unconscious?”
It was a normal thing to question. He feigned a softer tone to his voice, still adjusting his heavy eyelids and acknowledging Kurusu with a plaintive look in his eyes. Akechi needed to appear clueless rather than annoyed; someone who'd only gotten to know the Metaverse in the past month and had carelessly been bested by some shadow or another. Even the Detective Prince wouldn't choose to linger like this, he thought.
Or maybe no facet of himself could tolerate being this close, this vulnerable, under Akira’s scrutiny. The surface of his skin continued to pulse with unfamiliarity and the sharp pain in his leg only fuelled his anger further.
He needed to get out of here.
Akechi is carelessly injured in Mementos. He awakens in a patient's bed in Takemi Medical Clinic with a worried Joker staring right at him. They are both a little reluctant to leave.

Her eyes narrowed, smile falling, before a cold smirk took it’s place. “When in reality,” she swung, jumping up, “They’re so pitiful easy—”
Her feet hit the ground, and she dug her heels in.

Izuku Midoriya was a pitiful boy who never learned how to stop reaching, no matter how many times he got pricked.
They were always destined to change the world.

On his way up he bumps into a teacher he has yet to meet.
“I’m so sorry, sir.” Ren apologized and looked up at who must be the gym teacher. “Ah, you must be Ren Amamiya, the transfer student.” The man’s tone is filled with disgust, spitting out student like it was a swear.
“Just don’t make trouble here, the school has enough with Sakamoto.”
“Who’s Sakamoto?” Ren can’t help but ask, curiosity is the only thing he has with him at the moment.
“Another problem child who can’t control his temper,” Ren flinches like he was burned. “I’ll be watching you.” Before the teacher could walk away, another blonde student ran in, he looked like a delinquent. He was loud and confident, the opposite of Ren.
“Kamoshida! The castle!” The teen yelled, Ren was slightly glad that the teacher, Kamoshida, was interrupted on his way to leave. Too bad the kid seemed to be crazy with how he was blabbering about a castle.-
