Dickie vaguely knows what treats are, but he isn’t sure he has ever had one. He especially isn’t sure what giant earplugs have to do with treats. Maybe the treat is loud?
Plastic crackles as Jason rips open the bag. “These are called circus peanuts.” -

Dickie flinches when he hears the tell-tale click of Alfred’s shoes tapping against the hardwood. Foolishly, he hopes the butler doesn’t notice his many misdeeds. He braces himself, not daring to sniffle again when he’s close enough to hear. He only hopes the snot doesn’t dribble down his face.
Alfred tuts upon seeing the sorry state before him. “Master Richard, I am rather dismayed to see the lack of progress on your supper.” His voice is clipped, unafraid to show his open displeasure.
Dickie tells himself that it’s better this way. It’s better that the food remains untouched, untarnished, than for him to get sick all over the table. At least like this it can be reused, reheated and given to someone with a body that works properly. Maybe one of the actual Wayne sons would enjoy it, if they ever visited.
He couldn’t digest it anyway.

Damian watches the Flying Graysons fall. He and his father turn the boy over to the Gotham Police department, content to assume that he'll be appropriately taken care of by the system. They can't take in another child, not after Jason was killed. There will never be another Batboy as long as Damian is alive to forbid it.
But when Damian finds out that Dick is hunting down the Maroni crime family and has been placed in juvenile detention due to lack of beds in Gotham's orphanages, he can't simply look the other way.
