Arthur died. Then Arthur wakes up. One week after Merlin begins his service as his manservant. As the summer holidays rolled around and Kay was very much free to do whatever he wanted, he stumbled upon an old, hidden tab in his chrome browser. Ao3 statistics? Since when was that there, swimming amongst the hundreds of opened, "I'll read those later" gorgeous pieces of fanfiction? Cautious, and now feeling guilty enough to click on it, he opened the tab.
"Fuck do you mean I had only posted one work this year? Huh?"
With much more free time on his hands and the desire to die left behind with school duties, an idea was born.
That was probably wayy too dramatic of a way to say that I'll be writing a short 1k word, Merlin fanfic every day of the summer holidays.
UPDATE!!!
It seems that once again, Kay had greatly overestimated his abilities and got sucked in by ambition way beyond his capabilities. Thousand words a day, for sixty two days straight? Really? Delusion at best, truly.
Inventing time travel to slap his two months younger self seems like a very desirable option now.
However, even if the summer holidays did not offer closure, the school year might (it better). At a rate of one fanfic per week, still just a thousand words, this series shall continue.

Arthur always knew that it would be over.
The funny feelings. Stolen kisses in the throne room. Hungry looks at each other. He knew that they were too good to last, good things wouldn’t happen to him. But he was lost in an illusion where he felt loved. He didn’t want to leave that illusion; he only wanted to feel the kisses, the caring touches for a bit longer.
That was what he thought when he caught Merlin using magic. No, no. That would be a lie. The first thing he thought was that Merlin was so beautiful with these golden eyes. How beautiful and cruel.
“I would never hurt you. I never hurt you.”
His voice was shaky, full of emotions. Was there love in that voice, Arthur thought, or was that another lie?
