“I know you are,” interrupts Garnet. She rarely does that, but she wants to be clear. “I’m not pushing, Pearl. You get to decide who knows what about you. I just wanted to let you know that people were noticing something you might want to keep to yourself.”

“I should go with you.”“I can handle one call,” Pearl says. “You know your presence would only escalate things. And you’re needed here.”
“You’re needed here too,” Rose says. She pauses. “My Pearl.”
Pearl flushes, putting her spear away. Her clothing shifts into the dress of a default pearl. Then she smiles at Rose, chillingly generic. “Not at this moment.”
Rose doesn’t say anything. After a moment, Pearl steps back onto the warp pad and disappears without another word.

“Pearl, what’s the most effective way to ruin a Kindergarten?”“The injectors,” Pearl says, grinning a little. “The ones they’re using here are not graded for the kind of grip that Earth’s sandstone requires. They lose their grips all the time, and they’re a pain to replace.”
Bismuth nods, confirming this much.
Pearl continues, “And sabotaging the Kindergarten while it’s seeding jaspers will drive the Diamonds crazy.”
Bismuth nods more emphatically, making them all laugh. But Garnet’s watching Pearl.
If Rose had said that, none of them would’ve thought twice. But Pearl isn’t the type to joke about those she doesn’t know.

Rose returns victorious -- maybe a little too excited about a shattering, but none of them can blame her for the excitement of knowing Pink Diamond is gone.Pearl is a step behind her, as always. As everyone excitedly clusters around Rose, Garnet goes to Pearl. She’s never seen anyone look so haunted.
Garnet can’t imagine feeling sympathy for Pink Diamond. But she and Pearl have led very different lives. She reaches out her arms and Pearl falls into her, desperate, like she’s drowning.

She buries her theories for the thousands of years that follow. She looks away as Pearl opens doors that require Diamond-level clearance and operates consoles that low-ranking gems would never have had occasion to touch.They destroy the Communication Hub, the galaxy warp, the console on the moon base. Both Garnet and Rose spend thousands of years pretending not to notice Pearl navigate Pink Diamond’s structures like she designed them herself.

Pearl is already standing, turned away to face the wall.
[.] Pearl’s hands are clutched over her mouth.Sapphire had never had a pearl assigned to her, but Ruby had known other rubies, including those who asked inappropriate questions. Garnet has the misfortune of knowing what a secret looks like.
Pearl wrenches her hands away from her mouth. “Don’t tell Rose,” she begs.
Garnet wrinkles her brow. “I thought Rose knew.”
Pearl tightens her hands into fists, as if willing them to stay put. “Rose knows-- what she knows,” she bites out. “You know what you know. Please don’t tell her-- what she doesn’t know.”
Garnet tries to translate this. She knows who Pearl once belonged to, the position Pearl once held. Rose must know it too. They made so many plans together: Rose never would’ve accepted Pearl’s intel without knowing where it came from.
It was always clear to Garnet that Pearl was using her position to aid the rebellion. There’s no way Rose Quartz could’ve gotten close enough to Pink Diamond to shatter her, otherwise.
“Rose doesn’t know about this,” Garnet says, taking Pearl’s hands.
Pearl nods.
Every time they leave the temple, they find another awful thing the Diamonds left behind: often corrupted gems, but sometimes evidence of the harm that Pink Diamond did to Earth. Garnet has found another one here, living inside Pearl. No wonder she wants to spare Rose the heartache.
Rose would blame herself for shattering Pink Diamond without forcing her to rescind the order that’s still binding Pearl. And none of them need any more guilt.

A mysterious break-in at an underwater lab facility leads to Steven and the Crystal Gems recovering an injured, hurting, and mistrustful Lapis Lazuli, and Steven insists on enlisting his family to try and help Lapis get back on her feet and deal with the loss of everything she's ever known. But with Peridot on the loose playing mad scientist, a swarm of Homeworld robots gunning for the Crystal Gems and any Gem associated with them, Jasper still at large, and evidence piling up that Malachite is still badly affecting Lapis, will Steven be able to help his new friend without exposing his loved ones to a whole host of terrible dangers?
Good thing Steven's loved ones are no slouches when it comes to dealing with serious trouble...

Rose quartz pink diamond secret silencing pearl

“Earth belonged to the Diamond known as Pink,” Rose’s voice lowered, “She wanted to suck the life out of this planet just like all of the others. But a group of us, who eventually became known as the Crystal Gems, couldn’t stand for this. So we fought, it was a hard war, with many casualties on both sides. But we fought because we cared about the Earth, because we wanted to save it ...And, eventually we won. That monster is gone and the Earth is free from her terrible reign now.”Sardonyx’s mind went blank. In an unnatural way, it wasn’t as though she’d let her mind clear out of any thoughts inside it, slowly reaching a state of tranquility. Nope, one moment she had thoughts and then the next her mind was blank, all her previous thoughts just—blip!—gone. It ripped Pearl and Garnet out of the fusion leaving them suspended—though not for long—a few feet off the ground, before they fell clumsily to the ground.
What was that? Garnet wondered to herself, she’d never had anything like that happen to her, or another fusion she was a part of before.
On the ground a few feet away sat Pearl, back to the other crystal Gems, both hands over her mouth and lips sealed shut against her will

“Well,” Pearl struggled to speak, wondering how her roommates and former girlfriend would take the news. “I’m a mother now.”
There was dead silence on the other side, as the three women stared in shock at her. After another beat, Garnet pulled down her glasses in order to look Pearl in the eye, a blank expression on her face, before she spoke what they were all thinking.
