Summary
Dream slides his face into his hands.
“Damnit Ranboo,” he hisses. “Where the fuck are we?”
“How am I supposed to know?” Ranboo snaps back.
During the prison escape, Dream and Ranboo both dive underwater to avoid capture. They didn’t count on accidentally finding portal and being transported to a world completely different from the SMP. They soon learn they have a lot of world-hopping to do to get home—and to survive, they'll have to (very reluctantly) work together.
Meanwhile, the rest of the SMP freak out and start pointing fingers. Tommy is not amused by the possibility of another war, so this time he takes matters into his own hands.

He does fine up until the L’Manburg war, when the young man is given no choice but to expose his magic to save his people. After the win for L'Manburg, their joy is short-lived as diplomacy is shoved aside for the greed Dream holds within his heart. Friends speak of the horrors he commits, which only grow after he makes a shady deal to block out the one goddess keeping him sane as he thinks she's limiting his power.

"When Wilbur wakes up, he’s lying face down against blackstone and blood is dry against his cheek. He’s not at home, or in the van, he's not comfortable, napping with his family. He’s in a claustrophobic room, a glorified graveyard, and there is everything wrong with it. It stinks of iron, he notes, lifting his head an inch. He shifts as he does, and then a cry forces itself from him before he can process the pain. His back burns, like he’s on fire, but he knows he isn’t. So why is it so indescribably, painfully hot?
He frowns, and tries to shift his wings to wrap around himself a bit. They don’t move. His brow furrows, and he tries again, but they don’t move. Wilbur tries to turn his head, tug it out of Tommy’s hands, but Tommy only makes his hold firmer. Wilbur looks up at him, and Tommy can only shake his head, his eyes glassy and breath shaking. With a quick twist of Techno's fingers, the bugs died, and Techno busied himself with ruffling his hatchling's hair. "And you won't leave? You won't- you won't die?"
"I am a dragon, Theseus," Techno's hatchling ruffled his feathers happily at his name. "I would like to see them try."

Summary
It’s odd, Ranboo thinks, working so closely with someone that won’t admit they’re sick. It’s the worst kept secret in L’Manberg at this point: the bags under the president’s eyes, the pallor of his skin, the way his hands shake when he didn’t get enough sleep the night before. Everyone is aware of it, but no one seems willing to actually talk about it.
He wonders why that is. He wonders if it has something to do with the crater the nation was built on, or the dead men L’Manberg speak about like their names are curses. He wonders if maybe whatever made Tubbo sick can be cured. He wonders if maybe someone already told him these things and it all just slipped through his fingers like every other memory he forgets to write down.
“I was wondering if you know where Tubbo’s skin has gone?” Ghostbur asks, startling him from his thoughts.
Ranboo blinks, trying to wrap his head around the question. “His… skin? Do you mean his burns?”
“No,” Ghostbur shakes his head. “His skin.”

“Ranboo?”
Ranboo freezes but slowly turns around again. He meets the gaze of the demon, the leader of the so called Badlands, the armored being in front of him who could kill him without breaking a sweat, and he holds out a hand for Ranboo to take.
“It’s going to rain soon.” BadBoyHalo tells him, voice light. There is no malice in his eyes, only curiosity and concern. “And I’ve heard you don’t like rain. You wanna come inside?”
Ranboo’s head tells him it's a trap but his gut looks Bad in the eyes and knows he’s being genuine. There’s no catch to the offer, it’s simply given to him out of… Pity? The goodness of Bad’s heart? Whatever it is, it makes Ranboo want to collapse on the spot.
When did he get so tired?
(Ranboo feels like he has nowhere to go. The Badlands beg to differ.)
