Despite being cursed by an executed sorcerer's lover, Arthur showed no symptoms of any magical ailment. Merlin struggled to relax, however, and every cough, sneeze, or even heavy breath from Arthur put him on edge. Gaius thought they might have simply had luck on their side this time, but Merlin was disinclined to agree.
The witch had called Arthur a beast and said he shall burn, but Merlin hadn't realised just exactly what she meant by those words until it was too late. At least he got the brief satisfaction of being proven right.
