    So when the boy stumbled in and knocked the lid of her enclosure loose by accident, naturally she went out to investigate this strange deviation to her routine.

    She climbed out of her glass prison and up the boy’s shirt before she had time to think anything through. She was just so curious about where this could lead her.

    Can’t be worse than the stench of death and agony that she had become accustomed to, certainly.

    As she climbed up the boy’s arm up to the back of his neck, she couldn’t help but feel that something was different with this one.

      LO CH 3

      He looked over at Daredevil, one leg thrown over the roofs edge, ready to jump down on the fire escape. He was very still, his head cocked as if he was confused. Or listening for something. Like an owl!

      Oh! He’s saying something. He couldn’t hear through his concussion.

       

      “-old are you?” Daredevil rasped.

      Now it was Peter’s turn to still. Shit. Shit . Did his voice crack? His voice probably cracked earlier. God fucking damn it.

      “Language.” Did he just get corrected by Daredevil? Wild. Oop he’s fully on the roof now. Peter had to focus. He did not mean to say “fuck” out loud.

      “I’m old enough! Can’t tell you my exact age, you know, secret identities and all that.” There. That was a good response, right?

      Daredevil cocked his head again. Peter was getting increasingly nervous.

      “Hrn. Your form is awful.” Daredevil stated. Literally. There was no emotion in his voice. It was so cool . Also, his form wasn’t that bad. He just had to hold back. All the time. It was stressful. And difficult. And he had to learn most of his moves from movies and copy whatever the muggers he webs up are doing. It wasn’t his fault that if he went all out he could kill somebody! Squash ‘em like a bug, even!

      Oops, he forgot about Daredevil again. The guy is way too still for his liking.

      He hissed again.

       

      He did not mean to do that.

      Daredevil looked to the sky, then to Peter, then sighed as if he was making the worst decision of his life and God, why do you do this to me . At least those were the vibes Peter was getting from him.

      “Are you going to stop being Spider-Man if I tell you to?” Daredevil asked. There was a trace of actual emotion in his voice. Wild.

      “No.” Peter answered without hesitation.

      Daredevil tilted his head again. “Do you have a good reason?”

      Peter had to actually think about that one. “No, but I do have power. And a man way wiser than me once told me that with great power comes great responsibility.” Do not tear up do not tear up do not- Deep breaths, Peter.

      His spidey-sense pinged, and he shot a hand out to catch… a burner phone. Huh?

      “My number is in there. For emergencies. There are also two others. A nurse and an… ally. Sometimes. Pray that you will never have to contact the ally. I will text you a time and address soon. We’re going to make sure you don’t die.” Was that a smile? It didn’t look all that different but he was pretty sure that was at least 15% of a smile. He resisted the urge to hug the burner to his chest. He had to stay professional.

      “Uh. Yeah. Thanks Mr. Daredevil. Sir.” He shut up before he called him “your majesty” or something. Gosh he was pathetic. This is so cool though. Ned is gonna piss himself from excitement.

      He inspected the burner. It was a simple brick nokia, much like his own, except this one had a chipped screen and a single half peeled avocado sticker on the back. Opening the contacts, he found three numbers saved. Mike, CT and FC.

      Looking up from inspecting the phone, he found that Daredevil was already gone.

      “Dude. I think I’m going to get trained by Daredevil.”

      “ WHAT ?!”

      “Mom, why did I hiss at Daredevil today? Like, I kind of understand why I hissed at him the first time, I legitimately thought he was going to kill me for a second, but the second time he wasn’t even doing anything! He was just standing still. With a kind of menacing aura, but still!”

      Peter had decided to call the spider Mom after the nth time of trying to give her a name and her refusing to answer to anything other than some form of Mother. It was kind of sweet, actually. In a weird way. She seemed overjoyed with his decision though. And, he was willing to admit, she was actually doing a decent job of… parenting him. Excluding the constant suggestions of cannibalism. For example, she was a great bullshit filter, for when his anxiety acts up. And she brings him bugs, which, again, is kind of sweet in a weird way. He tries to ignore the fact that his mouth waters at the sight of the little webbed up flies. And she’s always very proud of him when he tells her how many bad guys he webbed up! A little disappointed that he didn’t eat them, but still very proud.

       

      He likes having someone who’s proud of him.

      “That’s a perfectly good reason, though. He was standing still, so he was obviously either preparing to attack or threatening you. There’s nothing wrong with you, child.” She patted his finger with her little spider leg, emitting calm and understanding. “Now, let’s talk about the fact that you don’t eat anything. Are you trying to starve?”

      Peter sighed. “I told you that I won’t eat bugs . It’s very sweet of you that you bring them to me but no .” He felt like the spider didn’t believe him. He shot her a glare before huffing and going back to his work.

    The Black Tux Gang: After defeating a villain together at one of Gabriel Agreste's exclusive soirees, Robin, Spiderman, Phantom, and Chat Noir decide to stage a swap, temporarily changing superheroing locations with each other.

    The Grand Larceny Gang: After being interrupted on her heists by other superthieves a few too many times, Black Cat decides to create an emergency resource so she, Carmen Sandiego, Shego, and Red X can avoid each other in the future. The only problem? Red X passed his invite off to Marinette and no one's quite noticed yet.

    A Noticeable Increase in Gang Activity: The Black Tux and Grand Larceny Gangs slowly converge at the newly reinstated Stark Expo, as they struggle to manage multiple problems like Peter almost getting asssassinated, Marinette's multiple different identities, and an Expo bomb threat that quickly spirals completely out of control.
