After that, all he remembered was his ship shaking, him being flung against one of the metallic walls, and then he was falling, faster and faster, pain, a scream and then nothing.

Technoblade and Philza had both told him that they were there to help and that he wouldn't be harmed under their protection, but he was still wary about it. The last he remembered hearing, they had a problem with a shortage of Ender pearls and that was why he was so easily traded off after a year old capture with Dream. Freedom was something new, old memories of it hidden behind a hazy fog of blood and death and thousands of respawns he wasn’t equipped for. 

    The only thing that only slightly made it better for him was the knowledge that both Technoblade and Philza were hybrids alike to him. Maybe not fully mob with the signature of a Player mistakenly traced onto them, but hybrid enough to have the same sort of experiences of succumbing to their most basic instincts when it came to overwhelming emotions that they couldn’t quite handle.”

    Everything has gone silent. The torches are off, the spirit box is silent, the rem pod has stopped. It's only company is quiet and everyone's heavy breaths.

    "Yeah, I'm... I'm fine, I'm good." The boy shakily tries to placate his friends and his nerves but he feels like he's gonna cry.

    The amount of fear that coursed through him, feeling like he was trapped, being held down was overwhelming.

    He just didn't want to leave that chair or something else didn't want him to.

    "Okay, okay, let's just… pack up and get out of here. We've gotten enough today. Let's go home or the church and just… let's just go." Tubbo suggests and the other two nod in firm agreement.

    They turn to get ready to pack when something else happens.

    Tommy is grabbed.

    Tommy, Tubbo and Ranboo are paranormal investigators with a channel they call Benchtrio. They decide to explore a very haunted museum with a dark secret.

    Tommy ends up sitting in a haunted chair to test the theory and it goes downhill from there.

    Technoblade was here. He was sitting, cross-legged, on the ground in front of Ranboo, his posture open and undemanding.

    Ranboo couldn’t think. His mind was clouded with fear, so he just did what he’d always done when he was scared and Technoblade was in reach. He crawled right into his lap.

    “Oh.” Technoblade sounded surprised, but his arms came up automatically to cradle Ranboo. Ranboo buried his face in the man’s neck, snuffling at it until a large, familiar hand found his hair. “Okay. We can do this. Whatever you need, kiddo.”

    The words rumbled familiarly through Technoblade’s chest and Ranboo did his best to press himself even closer.

    It was a little awkward— Ranboo was much bigger now than he’d ever been before in a position like this— but Technoblade was large enough that even in a human body, he could hold Ranboo easily.

    “I know you must be scared.” Technoblade’s voice was low and steady and Ranboo did his best to take a modicum of comfort in it. “You’ve been a cat for an awfully long time, haven’t you?”

     

    Or, three years ago, Ranboo was transformed into a cat by a vengeful witch. When Technoblade breaks that curse, it's a learning curve for them both.
