"And what's that?" Jace asks.
"I always fancied it, you know," She fiddles with the ring on her index finger; feels it make an indent on her skin. "A gap year. Finding myself. Never really did it. I was too focused on uni. But I'd like to. With you."
Something flashes across Jace’s face. Her eyes light up. “Yasmin Khan, are you propositioning me?”
Yaz tilts her head. Grins a little. “So what if I was?”
Yaz is an up-and-coming investigative journalist with UNIT. Only all her coworkers, save for two, hates her guts. Same old, same old. When she's assigned to write a puff piece on the Division, it leads her onto a trail of shady inventions and a disgraced inventor by the name of Jace Smith. Which would be fine, really, if Yaz hadn't met Jace in a pub all those months ago and began seeing her secretly. Nothing can ever be that simple, can it?

Mostly re-writing a bunch of canon scenes with an eye to making a happy Thasmin endgame, diverging from canon at the end of "The Timeless Children". Skips any plot that doesn't get affected by Thasmin, so this is best enjoyed if you already have a good working knowledge of "The Timeless Children" up to "The Power of the Doctor" + the 60th Specials.
Also has new, original scenes added for flavour + relationship-building.
Very little original plot, mostly an exercise in "give me sci-fi lesbians who actually get to enjoy a relationship"

The Fifth Doctor, not sure what is impelling him to do so, nonetheless sends Nyssa and Tegan away (for a week, chaperoned, to Paris, for shopping and museums) so he can, in the safety of the TARDIS garden, with the help of his beloved Venusian Magnolia tree, sink willingly into a trance and record his exploration of his origins. The result is so traumatic he is doubtful he can survive the experience long enough to find whatever he seeks.

In Theta's time of need, the Dragon Riders failed her. Thus, when she finds herself unexpectedly bonded to a dragon and pressed into their ranks, she does what she thinks any person in her position should do and runs away, living as a fugitive until a bit of bad luck and a friend-turned-enemy conspire to drag her back home.
