    “Forever may he reign,” Phil echoed in just a whisper.
    Phil didn’t register the rest of the goddess’s stay. He did not remember walking back to the palace or how the doors opened for him when he stepped through. He only came back to himself as his sons looked at him patiently, ready to be told about their brand new charge, the new ruler of the empire.
    “Boys,” he whispered, no longer being able to hold back his tears. “Meet Theseus. Your brother.”
    They had seen kings rise and fall for as long as they had lived. They would forever serve their land and never had they failed, but this… having the very king they were meant to serve be their brother in blood would pose the biggest challenge to their loyalty yet.

    Thunder shakes the soil they’re in as if it was an earthquake, and Tommy notes the tiniest, smallest, most subtle of flinches the soldier tries to withhold within his armor.

    As small as it is, something easy to miss, Tommy doesn’t.

    Or, Tommy is left under care of one of his guards when his father leaves for a diplomatic mission, and Techno, being an emotionally constipated soldier, doesn't know what to do when the prince takes a sudden interest on him after one fatidical thunderstorm.

    Magic twisted around the boy and curly hair turned to soft fur beneath Techno’s fingers. The boy’s face elongated to a small snout, his feet turned to hooves and the boy’s sobs were replaced with pitiful whining squeaks.

    Between one blink and the next, Techno was face-to-face with a Piglin kit— the little thing’s eyes shining with tears and his ears flat in misery.

    A chuff exploded out of Techno’s chest before he could stop it and the kit squealed. He tugged at Techno’s grip with newfound fervor. The man felt little tendrils of defensive magic run up his arms but overusing magic had more drawbacks than an awful smell.

    The kit was far too weak now to escape him.

    When he woke up this morning Techno was sure he had gotten ill. The night guard shift he picked up a few nights ago during the worst rainstorm this year probably didn’t help. The feeling of cotton and fog filling up every corner of his startlingly heavy skull. Every bone and joint ached and screamed for relaxation. Which was admittedly extremely tempting.

    Instead, Techno rolled out of bed, chugged multiple glasses of water in an attempt to stop the throbbing ache, and then strapped the heavy armor to his body. He had a schedule to keep to, a job to complete. When two maids entered the princes' room Techno was already standing at the ready between the two bedroom doors.

    Prince Technoblade, the eldest of the two, was originally meant to be King but had chosen to become a knight instead.

    And Prince Wilbur also chose against becoming King. He wanted to become a musician, and had chosen against learning his royal duties from a young age, instead enhancing his skills with a guitar.

    Although Techno was a great knight, and Wilbur was an amazing musician, the Antarctic Empire was left without an heir to the throne.

    Until Tommy was born into the kingdom's life.

    However, the queen died giving birth to Tommy, meaning he never got to meet his mother. The kingdom was both overjoyed and devastated at the loss and gain.

    But rest assured, King Phil would make sure Tommy became King.

    He was the Empire's last hope.

    Even if that meant forcing Tommy into doing something he hated.

    And you already know that Bigman Tommyinnit doesn't like being told to do things he doesn't like.

    After attempting to kill the Crown Prince and his family, Techno was circumstantially adopted into a family of people who actually cared about him instead of wanting to use him as a weapon. He was treated like a person, and eventually, he managed to trust them.

    A few years later, Techno is still with that family, except this time, he's significantly more annoyed with Wilbur's bullshit, has the power to ground Tommy, and can actually say "I love you" to Phil.

    Or, alternatively - Technoblade deals with his siblings, as well as his life as being the Crown Prince's best friend, older brother, and bodyguard.

      "No," Techno grins, letting go of his hand. "You're really not scary at all, Wilbur. You're about as intimidatin' as a small animal. A small animal with mild anger issues," Wilbur rolls his eyes, but there's a soft smile on his face, and even if there wasn't, Techno knows that he's not actually upset. It took him a decent amount of time to learn Wilbur's body language and to decipher what his words really mean, but he managed, and he would like to think that he's pretty good at knowing what Wilbur really means almost all the time. "Maybe severe anger issues. I think it actually depends on the day. You kind of just," Techno laughs, turning the page in his book, "get all angry whenever you see Tommy. Everyday that you don't see Tommy, I think you're a significantly better person."

      Wilbur sighs, leaning back against the bench, tilting his head up. "I agree with that last statement fully. I absolutely hate that fucking child. I would throw him into a pier if I could get away with it,"
