After bringing Buff out of heaven, I can't add to this 'oh hi, I resurrected you against your will, here's a bunch of bills, good luck paying them. ' "
Tara frowned.
"Isn't that something Mr. Giles could also do?"
Willow snorted.
"Yeah but Giles is gonna rage at me when he finds out what I did, and how I did it."
She shook her head.
"I love you, Tara, I really do. Nothing will ever change that, but it's what we should have done in June. We should have given Faith a second chance, no matter how many reasons people have to hate her. She won't be the B-team Slayer here, either. She'll very directly be the Slayer. And I'm going to do this."

Buffy's nose twitched.

"Huh." It was a reaction more like that of Oz than not, and that made Spike warier in some ways, and he had gone up to her and had seemed to steel himself.
"Pardon me, Slayer-" and as she'd tilted her head he'd struck her nose only to stare as did she when there was no reaction. For a moment his game face was visible as he looked down at Willow but Buffy shook her head.
"I'm me, Spike. Believe me."

Spike can feel himself slipping deeper and deeper into the dark even as he tries to fight what he knows to be right.
He also has to contend with an ancient evil taking over his mind and the world, terrifying little girls, and smart-mouthed boys. Not to mention everyone would rather see him dead than accept his help. Or admit that he's changed.

Summary
Set after the events of the show's finale, Buffy is not coping well with the loss of Spike. Fortunately for her, the First is working with Ethan Rayne and that particular worshipper of Chaos has gotten hold of a relic that will send her back into the past, giving her a chance to change things. Of course, the First had assumed that she would go back to Angel and would run away together but, since when has anyone in the buffyverse gotten what they wanted? Buffy finds herself back in the middle of season six, right after she has beaten Spike up outside the police station.
