Summary
Connie Swap is a completed fanfic series with Connie as the gem hybrid trying to live up to the expectations put on her by her guardians (Peridot, Lapis, and Jasper), her dad (Doug), and the long shadow cast by her mom (Citrine). Connie's adventure begins with Episode 1: Gem Glow and it quickly diverges from there.
Connie Swap draws inspiration from the show but it reinterprets as it goes: Connie is a very different protagonist than Steven and these are very different Crystal Gems. Each episode contains original art and several contain original songs.

An idea of Garnets origin story, created before a lot of Steven Universe was released so it’s pretty much it’s own thing at this point.
Sapphire and Ruby are both defective gems. Like all defective gems they are set to a Unit, an underground prison esque area where the people who run it don’t care if you live or die. This is better in some units, which brings Sapphire to unit 6 after being transferred. Sapphire is a smaller than she should be and can see the future, which is unheard of. Ruby is smaller than they should be and told to manage Sapphire for their penchant of causing even bigger issues if problems find them. Ruby is in a program to see if defective gems can be rehabbed for the surface, if she completes this job. These two small powerhouses start becoming friends after a rocky start. Beginning to right what they can in their unit, taking down corruption and trying to avoid being shattered.

"Now I know what your thinking. This thing doesn't look like a Rose Quartz. So in order to prove that this is indeed Rose Quartz, I brought in a gem-identifying robonoid!" Yellow Zircon announced.
The robonoid scanned the hideous creature that was supposedly "Rose Quartz". Yellow Zircon pulled her screen out waiting for the results.
Blue Zircon stood there nervously, clutching her own screens. Once the robonoid revealed that this was indeed Rose Quartz, there wouldn't be much she could do for her. They'd both be shattered, Rose Quartz for shattering Pink Diamond, and herself for not completing her task.
Which was to prove Rose Quartz innocent.
Yep, she's definitely going to be shattered.
Just then, a notification popped up on Yellow Zircon's screen, signaling that the results had come in. Yellow Zircon opened it smugly, already knowing what it would say.
Yellow Zircon opened the message, and almost dropped her screen from shock. She couldn't believe her eyes. This couldn't be possible. The robonoid had to have been broken or tampered with.
But no, the robonoid was not broken, nor had it been tampered with.
That was no Rose Quartz.
That was a Pink Diamond.

Summary
Bismuth reforms a decade after she was bubbled for the second time to find that all of her old friends are corrupted, turned into monsters. It doesn't help that the person she learns this from ran her through with a large sword last time they spoke. But there are bigger problems. The Earth is safe from Homeworld at last, but at what cost?
The world is a large, inhospitable wasteland with gem monsters roaming around at every turn. The humans that survived have gone into hiding in their own settlements, but Steven has been cast out because of his gem. Alone, he discovers that gem forms respond to music and thinks he might be able to get his family back from the monsters they turned into. As strong as he is, however, he can't save everyone on his own. One kind of metal just isn't enough.
With a shaky alliance and a few blatant threats, the last two crystal gems still in one piece on Earth finally get down to Bismuth.
Canon compliant up to just before A Single Pale Rose. That's not to say Steven isn't a diamond, he just doesn't know it yet.
