    The world has finally woken up from the nightmare of Superman's regime. The Man of Steel has been defeated, but the cost was too high. Especially for one Bruce Wayne, who is a broken man surrounded by the loss of his family, faith in his fellow heroes and even his own body. He isn't quite as alone as he'd like to think though, as one Zatanna Zatara refuses to give up on him, or see him as anything less than human. All she wants to do is get him to smile and maybe relax, take a deep breath and try to move on. That seems impossible until opportunity comes knocking. A chance for a vacation, to get away from everything and try to find peace somewhere else. Unfortunately for Zee, Bruce and those who tag along, the ghosts of Wayne Manor are nothing in comparison to the malevolent evil waiting for them across the pond, and they will have to come to terms with the much more active spirits that plague the Wayne family's past.

    Sometimes, the screams one hears in the night cannot just be chalked up to the wind rustling through the trees.

Fortunately, forces were converging at that very moment to ensure that those suits and symbols didn't remain vacant for long. Jason Todd and Kara Zor-El had their part to play, and they would do so. But not without great struggle and pain. As Darkseid, seeking a new, powerful Fury for his army, turns his gaze to Earth, and the young woman now on it, the two need to band together for the protection of all that they love.

Meanwhile in Metropolis, Clark finds himself underground, dirt as far as the eye can see. His day could be going better it could also get worse.

    Clark went to the farmers market on a rainy Sunday afternoon, that’s the last time anyone has seen him by Batman’s account. It’s a love story. It’s a detective story.
