    Phil inhales sharply. “Wil,” he says, “the lantern.”
    “Oh, gods.” Wilbur kneels beside Phil, holding the lantern closer to Techno. “What in all the hells-”
    “Withering,” Phil says grimly. He doesn’t reach for Techno again. “Don’t touch him. Go and get your brother.”
    “Please,” Techno sobs. “Please, I didn’t want this, you weren’t supposed to know-”
    “Shh, shh, it’s okay mate.” Phil’s voice shakes. “We’re gonna fix this. We can fix it.”

    The mumblings grew louder the closer he got until he came to the room they originated from. A small figure is curled up against the wall, taking up a sliver of space in the vast, ornate room.

    An angel, Wilbur realizes, if the fluffy white wings shielding a face are anything to go by. One of his… subjects? Wilbur had never been too sure what to call them. He mainly just considered them under his care, but it’s a bit more complicated than that.

    Regardless, it’s concerning to see such a tiny angel alone in a place like this.

    “Hello?” Wilbur asks, his voice echoing throughout the chamber, making it much louder than he intended.

    The singing stops, and the angel looks up to meet his eye, staring at him with the face of a child. Blue eyes widen impossibly, the angel almost shrinking in on themself.

    “What are you doing here?” He tries, crouching to be more level. The angel—the child—keeps a curious gaze on the god but makes no move. Something tugs at Wilbur’s heartstrings. Such a small being shouldn’t be alone.

    OR Wilbur is a lonely god and finds an equally lonely angel named Tommy and family ensues

    Unlike every other time he's been asked to read a letter addressed to him, they don't ask him to fight. They don't ask him to battle.

    “You want me to..” Techno trails off, voice cut short by the rough edges of his throat. “You want me to be your kingdom’s general? Me, the guy who led a rebellion against you two years ago and the reason why you even need a new general in the first place?”

    Another kingdom asks Techno to be their general. It doesn't end well for him, but hey, at least he gets a new friend!

     "Excellent!" Schlatt clapped his hands together. 

    Technoblade whipped his head around to see the grin on his face. He had hoped for some acknowledgement then, perhaps even an explanation, but was given none. Instead, he spoke to the King once more. "I continue to govern this land in exchange for joining your empire. You rule all trade and have free reign over our military."

    Philza's eyebrow raised. "And your general?" 

    A dismissive hand was raised. "Do as you wish with him." 

    Technoblade froze. He watched a calm smile spread across Philza's face and a hand come down on his shoulder.

    Or, after suffering defeat at the hands of King Philza, Technoblade is offered up as a prize of war. The royal family are considerably... different from what he expected.
