This fiction goes through the span of the Steven Universe show, keeping to canon as close as possible while showing Lapis and Peridot growing from enemies to roomies to lovers. Each chapter takes place near or around an episode, with true canon divergence happening in season 4.-

Summary
After being away for a few years, Pearl finally returns to Beach City and moves in with Amethyst (a hoarder) begrudgingly due to needing a place to stay.
However, things go badly at a party when Pearl saves Lapis from Jasper, a well known gang member.
To save herself from getting mugged or tormented, Pearl is thankfully mistaken as a boy and so she uses the name ‘Earl’ to stay safe.
But as feelings for Lapis grow Pearl must decide if she wants to keep her identity secret to avoid the wrath of Jaspers gang or if she tells Lapis the truth. -

Summary
Lapis doesn’t like to think about it. Everything keeps changing, just like the Earth, and the time they spent in that barn together without the faintest idea of Time bearing down on their shoulders feels more and more foreign to her. Wispy memories: she’s only faintly able to recall what it had felt like to sit beside Peridot on their roof to watch the Sun rise, Pumpkin nestled between them with gentle snores, no expectations weighing them down.
Sometimes, she wishes the world would stop spinning.
Lapis, Peridot, and Jasper (and Pumpkin, of course) decide to embark on a road trip together. It goes about as well as one would expect.

Summary
The Renegades AU focuses on a divergent timeline in which Steven Universe is unable to escape the clutches of the Diamonds and Homeworld during the "I Am My Mom" arc. True to Blue Diamond's word, she provides a punishment worse than what Steven initially imagined - rather than shatter his gem, she forces him into the life of a Homeworld soldier; after all, the best punishment "would be to force her back into the life she despised so much that she shattered her own Diamond, right?"
While on Homeworld, Steven meets his punishment head on with determination. He manages to find friends among the gems who hate him, and adapts to the harsh life of a Homeworld soldier. And just beneath the surface, a war rages against Homeworld - one that threatens both Steven, as well as the Diamonds.

Summary
As an IT intern at Beach City Hospital, Peridot spends her time restarting computers and organizing files. Two months into her internship, her coworker Pearl introduces her to their new patient - Lapis Lazuli. She was kidnapped six months before and was found by police in a room full of mirrors. With no immediate family and no emergency contacts, Pearl asked Peridot to be Lapis' caretaker. After she agrees, Pearl tells her that Lapis is pregnant and heavily traumatized.
This fanfic is heavily inspired by "Things We Lost and Things We Gain" by teamchaosprez !! (steven universe fanfic in 2025???? crazy) It was written back in 2015 when Lapidot was just a CONCEPT, so I wanted to update it a bit according to lore and my own headcanons.
Updated every Friday !!
** I will be AVOIDING graphic depictions of Lapis' trauma at all costs!! She will have flashbacks, but nothing explicit will be mentioned.**-

Wow this hurt me... in all the best ways.
Steven doesn't escape Homeworld after the trial. Damn does BD really take advantage of the human part of Steven for psychological torment. Hurts to read, the comfort in between keeps making me hurt for the next horrible event to happen. Yet the end is so damn sweet... still hurts, though.
