Summary
Merlin has gotten on Arthur's last nerve. Why is that boy always at the tavern when Arthur needs him? So, this time, Arthur decides to go to the tavern to reprimand his useless servant. Only, Merlin isn't at the tavern. And for some reason, the bartender has never heard of him and Gwaine thinks Arthur is crazy for suggesting that Merlin drinks all the time. Arthur is so confused and pissed that no one can tell him where his servant is. Arthur runs to Gaius' chambers to yell at him for lying and sees Merlin on the brink of death. This changes his whole perspective and chaos ensues from there, leading to some realizations.

A little moonshine and not one, but two of Merlin's biggest secrets come to light. Arthur doesn't know what to think. What to feel. Everyone is allowed their secrets--even Merlin, as much as it pains him. But treason? Magic?
Lines blur between right and wrong, duty and friendship, fury and understanding, love, hate, protection, control. Merlin's abilities might be keeping him from the pyre, but a part of him still dies, shackled in a thin band of iron on his left ring finger.

Summary
There's a reason Merlin always tried to never, ever let himself get drunk. Who knows what he'd say or do! But now that magic is officially legalized, and everyone knows who and what he is, what harm could there be, really... Arthur respectfully disagrees with this assessment, Gwaine is delighted, and Merlin is going to regret this later for sure.

Summary
He didn’t quite get it. Merlin didn’t quite understand why Arthur would invite him for a drink with him and his friends, the knights. It’s not that he was complaining, but he hadn’t done it before so why now?
Arthur on the other hand, knew exactly what he was doing bringing Merlin to a pub. As far as Arthur knew, Merlin went to the pub regularly and couldn’t pass up a good drink. With Merlin drunk he could figure out what his servant was hiding from him all this time.

Summary
After Camleot is overrun by Morgause's army and Morgana is revealed to be a spy, Merlin is forced to free The Great Dragon. He gives him the answer he seeks yet takes something much larger, when the citadel is weak he kills Uther Pendragon.
Arthur, overcome with loss, begins searching for the only man who can help him defeat The Great Dragon, the last Dragonlord. What they find, however, is much more than either Merlin or Arthur expected. In the shadow of that cruel night, Merlin must face the truth of his heritage and hide it from his best friend, the new king of Camelot.

This is meant to immediately follow up that one tavern scene in season 5 episode 12, where Merlin wins all of Arthur's money from the dice game (through using magic, but Arthur doesn't know that here). The knights all see that Merlin and Arthur clearly love each other, but know that they won't ever say anything to each other. So, Gwaine in all his drunk wisdom makes a bet with Leon. The other knights take sides and chaos ensues.
