“Alright, sure, I’ll fight a ghost,” Techno drawled, and this time Phil really laughed, leftover adrenaline finally receding the tiniest bit. “That’s fine, I’ve trained for that. We’ve got the ocean, so we’ve got salt, and, uh, scriptures, I can write some of those. God Emperor Technoblade, it’s got a nice ring to it. Truly classic. You and me, Phil, Antarctic popes. We’re starting our own religion.”
Phil’s mittens reeked of spilled fuel, pungent and sharp. His head ached, whiplash from the hard landing settling into a pounding behind his eyes, and he was numb and shivering, each frigid inhale scraping his lungs, but those sensations could probably keep him awake, as long he didn’t slip from shivering into hypothermia. Survival instincts, those were good to activate. He’d been in the air over twenty-four hours before he’d been shot down, he needed all the alertness he could scavenge.
“Yeah? What are we worshiping, slowly starving to death?”
“Chaos,” Techno informed him. “Chaos and frostbite. Speaking of frostbite, how’s the navigation going?”

Summary
He felt the uncomfortable feeling of being watched so he glanced over at the emperor. He only had a few ideas as to why he was staring at him. One he recognised that ranboo had weapons one could only have if they were the emperor’s army at some point. Two, he was taking note of the troop number on his shoulder along with his personalized number. Or three he recognized him from the few times they had been on the battlefield together, but that wasn’t likely since they hadn't spoken once together. He was only one of many children the emperor had to look at and send to their deaths.

Ranboo makes a weird face as he also pulls out some stickered covered envelopes, most with sloppy handwriting with the castle's address and their troop number then each one had a personal number. Ranboo was pleasantly surprised to find one with his number written in much more elegant writing; it was still shaky as if the person writing it was crunched for time. Ranboo glanced at the return address and smiled.
It was a school address, that was really cute. Ranboo tucks the letters away into his journal.

The basic ‘no-shiny’ rule he worked with wasn’t just him trying to be difficult. Hell, not even greedy. When Phil’s instincts were in a twist, it genuinely fucked with his head. Something like that just wasn’t excusable in a world where he needed a hundred and ten percent of his mental capacity to focus on not being murdered twenty clicks deep into the untamed wilderness. If all he could think about was how he could get the gold back to his nest and far away from the people who wanted it, no one was gonna be happy.
“I mean you no disrespect, but what you’re asking of me is outside my depth,” Phil tried to blunt the bad news, “My sincerest apologies for any disappointment.”
“Then I’ll pay you double for your inconvenience. Make it your depth.”-

Summary
Technoblade, after so long of being the "Blood God" and "God of War," had long since grown tired of bearing the titles, and had been longing for a chance of redemption, to rebuild his life. On the right track, this time.
Seeking an escape, he had been able to apply to a high school, and had eagerly waited until he'd gotten his letter.
Accepted, it had read.
He hadn't believed it at first, but he had never gotten the chance to go to high school, and instead had learnt about war and justice and sword fighting and punishments.
So, with research, he set out an outfit for the next day, filled a backpack with all the stuff that the website had said that he'd need—textbooks, notebooks, encyclopedias, writing utensils, and for his specific elective, criminology and criminal justice books; he knew he'd be good at that already, punishment—and gotten in bed for the night.

TL;DR: Technoblade applies to high school in hopes to rebuild his life, the right way, and is eager to go the next day. To make friends, friends that could treat him the way that his family never could, and perhaps enemies that keep him close.

Phil was gentle as he placed the crown on his bowed head and tucked his hair behind his ears. Once the weight settled on his head, Techno lifted his head up. His breath caught. Phil beamed down at him, radiant in the morning light.
“Long live the emperor,” he said.
“Emperors,” Techno corrected. Phil reached out to pull him to a stand, and he went willingly. His heart did funny flips in his chest.
“Emperors,” Phil agreed, and drew him into a kiss.

Techno might be an omega, but he's not going to say yes to the first alpha who throws themself at him. They have to win his respect first, because he refuses to be mated unless he wants to be. He refuses to be owned.

As he stood up to leave, a strong gust of wind blew through. Distantly, Tommy could hear people shouting and stumbling but that wasn’t what he was focused on.
He was more concerned with the fact that he was currently about to fall off a building.
The wind had blown him backwards, to a point where the heels of his feet were dangling off the edge of the building. And just as Tommy was about shuffle carefully forward, another gust blew by.
Suddenly, Tommy was falling backwards, over the crowd and over the guards.

Summary
“You should've called me then,” Phil grimaces. “I get that it's you and me against the world, but, it's also you and me against paperwork.”
That gets a weak laugh out of Techno. That's not enough for Phil, however. He'd ban his friend from the office for a month if he could, and he would, if only Techno wouldn't think of it as an utterly dumb idea, and sneak letters of conscriptions onto his bedside table anyways.
In all honesty, Phil sometimes desires to just burn all those godsdamned envelopes and flee with his best friend to- to anywhere, anywhere but here.
Except, both their throats will be wanted anywhere they go. It's tough ruling the world. What can he do?
