Why the fuck had he even bothered to change? He loved Charlie (see constants no. 1-4), but even he had to admit his current discomfort was solely the result of the list of healthy bedtime rituals she’d organised for him when, allegedly, the bags under his eyes had started developing a gravitational pull.

Alastor spins her around, letting the fringed hem of her sparkling dress flare around her legs like the spreading wings of a bird. When Alastor pulls her back to him, Mimzy pushes herself flush against him and dips him slightly, teasingly in turn, just enough to earn a few whoops and whistles from the crowd. They both grin and laugh before seamlessly whirling into the next dance.
Vox pretends like it doesn’t make his stomach twist.
New Years Eve, 1983. Vox goes out to a 1920s party with Alastor and Mimzy, only to grow increasingly jealous.
