      뭔가 지켜달라는 보안 경비 계약 맡은 슬레가 계약 조건 때문에 배우자를 찾고 있다 슨이를 점찍게 됨
      둘이 그리스로 가서 미리 감시 대비해 연인 행세도 하고 썸을 탐
      꽃다발 하나에 티격태격하고 그 이후 냉전도 찐커플 같았음ㅋㅋ

      그러다 고용자의 화물이 아이들인 걸 알게 된 슨이가
      고용주를 죽이고 계약 파기하자 하니까 슬레가 따라줌
      2부는 슬레 시점인데 이게 더 슬레 입장에서 풍부하게 서술해줘서 더 재밌었음. 서술이 자세하진 않지만 볼 만함

    Dick’s skin burned. Frothing and deep, spreading over his back like someone had slathered hot wax over his skin, but more. Dick knew what it was instinctively; this kind of shifting pain that went soul-deep could only mean one thing.

    A soul mark.

     

    Dick had been fighting Slade for as long as he'd known the man. Robin and the Titans had kicked Deathstroke's butt several times, no matter what Slade had to say about it. They'd been flirting and fighting and nothing had ever come of it, nothing had ever changed. Dick didn't expect change - but it had come for them anyways.

He isn't wearing his usual tactical armor, just a pair of rumpled black trousers and a cheap polyester button-down shirt of the sort that waiters don at catering events. When Slade moves to hook his hands under Jason's arms to drag him inside, he finds that Jason’s shirt is unbuttoned and there's a livid trail of small bruises decorating his neck and chest.

    Not bruises. Bites.

    Livid is an apt word. Because that's exactly what the flash of red that suddenly clouds his vision must mean.

    The first thing he noticed upon opening the door was the copious amount of blood. That amount of blood meant someone was dead or nearly there. Dick moved fast, without thought, finding the worst wound through a shock of white hair–and then the shoulder, clean through the artery, and–and the thigh, and somehow nearly every other fucking bone Dick touched through the reflexive injury check was broken, and that was when Dick recognized Slade’s face.

    In his defense, it was rather bloody. On the other hand, Slade was often bloody. It just wasn’t usually his own. The damage alone made it hard to accept that this was Slade.

    “Shit,” Dick said.

     

    Dick would have said that Slade getting shoved off a tall building was the ideal outcome to any fight Slade got in. Hell, he'd tried to shove Slade off of the Tower more than once. Somehow he hadn't ever considered what he'd do if Slade actually got hurt. Fortunately, Slade was a very, very annoying patient, and Dick didn't have to change his mind about shoving the man off of the closest ledge.

    “It is,” Slade said, his eyes fixed on Dick. His attention made Dick’s skin crawl, and he bared his teeth. “No matter how poorly behaved.”

    “Well, a man has his tastes. You should be grateful, Grayson.” Luthor looked at him with cold eyes and too-white teeth. “He’s the only thing keeping you from your sentence.”

    Two hours, nineteen minutes, and thirty seven seconds until his execution. The timer stopped. Dick wasn’t sure this was better.

     

    Dick is certain that he is going to die, certain that his world is ending in a way that he hasn't been since he was just a kid, looking down at his parents' bodies. This isn't like that. He won't get to see any of the bodies, but - Dick is going to die. His family is going to die. All that is left is to let the seconds slip uselessly through his fingers. Then Slade shows up to collect his payment and upends every certainty Dick has.
