It was quiet for just a moment. Then the creature screamed. Its cry sounded like an air raid siren and a car crash combined. As it shrieked, people all around began screaming as well in a horrific cacophony of unbridled terror. The monster's body began to move in an unnatural way, jerky yet fluid, deliberate. Its eyes scanned past the entire stadium: the people in the audience, the challengers on the pitch, the Gym Leaders and the Chairman before coming to a rest on Bede.

Something is turning the Pokémon of Galar into horrific monsters when they Dynamax. The Galar gym leaders try to find out what is going on and how to stop it, but they soon find themselves contending with a much greater foe. Also Bede catches feelings at the worst possible time.
ATTENTION: this fic is hereby abandoned. I've lost motivation and I just don't want to keep dragging it out.

“I guess it wouldn’t help if I offered to hold your hand?” Grantaire chuckles. “All right, it’s your twisted ankle.” He shakes his head. “I always suspected you must have some completely ridiculous fear.”
“It’s not ridiculous,” Enjolras says, grasping the bannister and half-hopping up a step. “You just think I’m being irrational because you don’t understand that it’s a death machine.”
