    In this part of the series, John ends up aboard Todd's hive, learning about the Wraith's more "domestic" side and getting to know some of his crew (a little bit). Todd is determined to win back John's trust and get him to admit there's something more than sexual between them. John is determined to keep his job and return to his people, even though he begrudgingly agrees to Todd's strange proposal that they get to know each other better. What he didn't expect was how strange Todd's hive could really be, as he finds them growing on him just as Todd was. And that's all nothing compared to the shock he faces before he has to face his crew again.

    Back on Atlantis, there is panic over the kidnapping. And more curiously yet, they can't figure out what Todd wants the items he's stolen for...

    Jack was having an excellent day thus far. He woke up to the sun shining into his quarters and a gentle sea breeze wafting in through his balcony doors. He got up at a leisurely pace and ambled down to the Mess Hall, where expedition members stopped and chatted with him as if they hadn’t a care in the world (he really wished he could remember more of their names). Once he got to his office, he had a few matters to address, plus putting out a fire Dr. McKay stoked by berating one of his staff to the point of a mental breakdown. Then he got to meet with Dr. Gray. He was enjoying their get-togethers immensely and wasn’t disappointed. They reviewed the translation she had done that led the expedition to one of three Ancient shipyards in Pegasus. It was quite the find.

    This is story four in my Hero series. Dr. Mariah Gray continues to learn about her powers and explores her relationships, both romantic and platonic. Takes place during Stargate Atlantis Season 4, sort of. I’ve started to make some major changes to the series and you’ll have to see which episodes I decided to keep. The title comes from Hero by Chad Kroeger.

    When the Ancients abandoned Atlantis, they did it with a plan. Return to Earth, develop a better intermediary between humans and Dragons and return to the Pegasus galaxy to finish off their mortal enemy, the Wraith. Only things didn't work out as planned. The Ancients returned to find Earth in the grip of the Goa'uld, a formidable and persuasive enemy hell-bent on destroying the new threat posed by the Ancients and their dragons.

    Flash forward roughly 10,000 years. Dragons have been hunted persecuted to extinction on Earth. Everyone knows Dragons are evil and the natural enemy of humankind. But when during the Siege of Atlantis, John Sheppard runs through a tiny, forgotten lab while in pursuit of a Wraith, a long-forgotten machine starts glowing blue. Soon Dragons are popping up all over Atlantis. These Dragons just might be the key to winning the war against the Wraith and bringing peace and freedom to the Pegasus galaxy once and for all. But ten thousand years of Goa'uld-seeded hatred is standing in the way. Will the Dragons of Atlantis find the strength to risk everything to stop the Wraith? Or will thousands of years of prejudice destroy the Dragons before their plan takes flight?

    So this is a Buffy the Vampire Slayer/StarGate Atlantis Crossover, but without Buffy or any of the Scoobies. Ok, previous statement is a little bit of a lie. There is one cameo from the big B herself, but otherwise I took the Slayer lore and shoved it into a Stargate Atlantis story. Don’t say you weren’t warned….
